Ally in an alley

Today my lovely friend Ally is visiting me from ontario. She is wonderful and she takes a wonderful photo. These are two photos of her today from our ally way adventures.

Hmm adding color to a painting is so much fun, but, it really changes everything.
This is stage two. I am still not happy with the outcome. Will play so more and post another version tomorrow.

I always carry a camera and a sketchbook wherever I go. Being ready to capture those significant fleeting moments is key when creating. This is the first stage of my acrylic painting. I will block in some color tomorrow.

The New Year 2010 January 1st post

The Blue Chair
I painted this picture in December. I know it breaks the rules right off the bat. But, the act of being creative gives us all permission to, challenge the status quo and yes, break the rules. This is, after all, the hook.

I noticed this beautiful chair while on a run along beach drive. The chair was placed on the point mysteriously months ago. Everyday, I see all kinds of people, old, young and even small children sitting in the blue chair gazing out over the ocean.

The 'Blue Chair' will be the thread that will weave together all the art I will submit in January. It will be a constant reminder to take the time to be present, notice the sacred moments that makes my heart sing, the moments that give me joy everyday.

Thank you Mattae for setting up this blog. You have inspired me to stop and more importantly, paint.
